Rabbi David Fohrman
Rabbi David Fohrman serves as scholar in residence for the Institute for Text Study, a division of the Hoffberger Foundation for Torah Studies. Rabbi Fohrman teaches on biblical themes at Johns Hopkins University, in homes, and in synagogues, as well as online.
Rabbi Fohrman served as a senior editor and writer of the Schottenstien Edition of the Talmud, a 72 volume elucidation of the Babylonian Talmud published by ArtScroll Mesorah. He is also the author of The Beast That Crouches at the Door: Adam & Eve, Cain & Abel, and Beyond, a finalist for the 2007 National Jewish Book Awards.
Rabbi Fohrman received his M.A. in the History of Ideas from Johns Hopkins University and a doctorate in Talmudic law from the Ner Israel Rabbinical College. He lives with his wife and children in Woodmere, NY.
The Hoffberger Foundation
The Hoffberger Foundation for Torah Studies, Inc., was founded in December, 1999, as a private non-profit 501(c)(3) operating foundation whose purpose is to teach and inspire Jews, through an intensive and in-depth study of the Torah and other Hebrew texts, to take Judaism seriously as a system of thinking and living that can profoundly enrich their lives.
The foundation is a support foundation of the Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore.
